SHOPPING - In Development
The only cure for 16 year old Willie growing up in a 'white' New Zealand during the 80's is some serious retail therapy.
His father's rage fuelled by concern for his brown son, forces Willie to leave his coastal roots and Samoan mother behind to join a shoplifting 'family' led by petty thief Charlie the Greek.
Willie's talents take him quickly to the head of the gang, and his new family's dinner table. But when he falls in love with Charlie's prized daughter he becomes the main course. With the knives out Willie decides to hatch a dangerous escape plan and rescue the only person who can save him.
The New Zealand Film Commission and Sticky Pictures presents 'Shopping' a film directed by Mark Albiston and Louis Sutherland.
